James Wehr’s Girlfriend Discovered After Death

Influencer James Wehr died in a car crash, taking his new girlfriend Alexis Kramer with him. He had told Kramer he was separated. Which was news to his grieving widow.

A 27-year-old influencer, James Wehr, died last Sunday speeding in his McClaren race car, returning home from a date with his Hooters girlfriend Alexis Kramer.

Tragic. Especially for his widow.

Wehr was married. And now Emma Wehr is suffering a posthumous D-day. She’s been widowed and chumped simultaneously. The picture above was from a loving Instagram reel she posted about him, probably before she knew he was a FW.

I’d like to tell you this is uncommon, but it’s not. Many people have wound up looking for support on this blog after their partners died unexpectedly.

Heck, I know people this happened to. In one case, back in Texas, it was Mr. CL’s upstairs office tenant. He died in a flood (that happens in Texas… turn around don’t drown…) The dead man’s girlfriend showed up wanting to collect his stuff. And then we got a call from ANOTHER girlfriend who wanted to be let in the apartment, who didn’t know about the first girlfriend. (Awkward. Mr. CL told both of them to get a court order for permission to enter. In the end it was an estranged child who showed up, took a few things of value and left us to clean up the mess.)

In another instance, a coworker of mine went to the hospital to be by her dying father’s bedside and his phone kept ringing from an unknown number. Her mother answered the phone and that’s how the entire grieving family discovered dad’s long-term affair. The dad was unconscious and died shortly thereafter. Again, leaving a big mess for everyone to deal with.

Cheaters must never imagine these scenarios.

Not that anyone wants to contemplate their demise. But if you live in a magical reality, without STDs or discovery, you must never imagine mortality. Of your loved ones finding out in the most horrific way possible about your double life. But I guess if you’re really selfish, why would you care? Chump appliance! Clean up in Aisle 7!

The New York Post reports:

Wehr paid for Lexiโ€™s flight to meet him in person for the first time, according to the family member, who said the pair went to dinner at Nobu and drinks at the Pendry Hotel hours before the fatal crash.

Before the crash Wehr posted an image on his Instagram from the Pendry hotel, followed by a shot of the McLaren in what appeared to be a police stop.

Cops said the supercar was stopped at a red light near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue shortly after midnight Sunday. The vehicle accelerated at a high speed once the light turned green and the driver lost control and it slammed into a tree.

The impact caused the car to split apart and catch fire, killing both people inside. Authorities did not say who was driving the car and are still investigating the incident.

Alexis Kramer probably thought she was meeting some hot shot influencer. Probably believed his lies about his marital status. A one month online flirtation, evening fling, that ended fatally. Now her family is grieving.

My CL cynicism is she probably wasn’t Wehr’s only Instagram girlfriend.

I wonder if he sped away from the police stop because he didn’t want to be caught cheating?

What a stupid, sad waste.

Every year when 9/11 rolls around, I find myself thinking of the unsuspecting widows who found out after their loved one perished that there was an affair partner, secret family, illegitimate children. The affair partners could not claim from the victim compensation fund but the law allowed the children to make a claim and the affair partners lined up for it. I feel sorry for the kids, but imagine the grieving widows. Many of them initially refused to sign off on the fund distribution when they found out. They eventually consented because their own families needed the money. Can you imagine that horror being piled on?

When I read the NY coronerโ€™s office has complete DNA profiles for a number of victims but that there are families who will not share their DNA to find a possible match, I wonder if those families are ones who suffered some kind of abuse from the person. Not everyone who perished was a saint. Losing someone and finding out they were a FW is an extraordinary grief I canโ€™t begin to fathom. I pray for the widows and all families who are hit with this. What a tragedy.

Yes, I’m aware of a similar case at the Pentagon as well. Just horrific for a secret to come out upon their death!

Klootzak was a Navy officer at the Pentagon that day. I am sure there were quite a few cases. There may have also been some on planes headed off for a โ€œwork trip.โ€

My therapist during the divorce was in her 70’s, living in a 55+ community. During the divorce process, my attorney was nearly 70 and was the son of a judge who rose all the way to the appeal court level.

BOTH warned me about oddball situations and upsetting revelations I might run into. The therapist said there had been some doozies she heard in her office and in her community of people cheating and even dying with a wife and a girlfriend or two that didn’t know about each other. My attorney said the same, noting that if any shocking situations happened, I should email him immediately, and that he or someone on his staff would respond. Being the curious type, I asked, “What sort of situations?” And he outlined this very one. A death and a secret or two come to light. Maybe a really big secret. He knew that my STBX was in poor health, but the end of a life happens other ways too.

For awhile, I churned about whether I’d attend his funeral. What if I was separated? What if the divorce wasn’t final? What if it was final? What if we were still in closeout? His family was very religious and hard to deal with. Undoubtedly, they would take control of the situation and push me aside. They were like that. And what if a girlfriend or two showed up? One of my adult kids said, “No way,” and the other said, “Maybe.”

Now, years later, no, we wouldn’t go. That chapter is closed.

But Emma Wehr. Gosh, that’s cataclysmic. I hope she has reasonable, supportive people around her. That might be one for just a quiet burial with family, but 100% her choice.

Thatโ€™s how my friendโ€™s ex boyfriend found out his dad was a long term cheater.

Dad was on his literal deathbed in the hospital when some woman nobody had seen before expected to be let into the room. My friend, her (then boyfriend) ex, and his wife were already there and all the expected family had already shown up.

After he died and they started cleaning out his stuff, they discovered the actual receipts. Not metaphorical ones, real ones. For the jewelry and a bunch of other gifts heโ€™d bought her over the years.

My friend wasnโ€™t all that surprised. The guy was a FW in other areas. The approach her ex took was to not talk about it or acknowledge it and pretend he didnโ€™t see anything.

Yet another Cheater makes terrible choices, lies to people, creates an unholy mess, damages innocent lives and ….. leaves a devastated Chump to clear up the mess.

“Cheaters must never imagine these scenarios”

I asked my husband whether he seriously believed that he could get away with living his gay double life forever, and his response was “I thought it would all come out after I was dead.”

It’s not that he didn’t imagine the scenario. He just didn’t care.
